Project Overview:

Escondida New Truck Shop and Warehouse

The Escondida New Truck Shop (ENTS) Project involves construction of a modern truck shop, located northeast of the existing facility, with 24 bays measuring 24m x 24m, plus eight bays for auxiliary equipment measuring 18m x 24m. The new shop is located outside the mine’s facilities and near the mine road that deposits ore into the sulfide stockpile. The scope also includes construction of a new warehouse adjacent to the shop.

Job Summary:

The position will be responsible for managing own packages, if required, and also leading the Procurement activities under the supervision of the Project Supply Chain Manager (SCM) providing supervision to a procurement team of various discipline professionals; leading all project Procurement activities, including strategy development, planning, commercial management, budget control, staffing, governance, stakeholder engagement, and project closeout. Ensures Procurement execution is fully integrated with project objectives, complies with corporate and contractual requirements, delivers cost and schedule performance targets, and develops high-performing Procurement teams while providing strategic support to project and business leadership.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

Major Responsibilities:

- Participates with the project team on a small to medium sized project in defining and developing the scope of Procurement work, and in preparing and coordinating Procurement plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets
- Contributes Procurement input to the preparation and/or modifications of the project’s prime contract
- Prepares and/or directs preparation of commercial terms and conditions for use on all project purchase documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated
- Prepares Procurement workhour requests with the assistance of functional personnel, if needed
- Monitors project Procurement workhour expenditures, including support offices,



to ensure operations are within approved budgets
- Monitors supplier billings for compliance
- Evaluates changes, prepares appropriate revisions to the workhour budget, and secures required approvals
- When assigned by the Regional Business Unit Manager of Supply Chain, prepares, coordinates, and submits Procurement input to business development proposals, soliciting input from global business unit and Corporate Procurement personnel as necessary
- Develops, coordinates, and makes Procurement presentations to project and/or Customer personnel
- Requests and prepares any necessary delegations of Procurement authority for Procurement commitments
- Review and monitor in coordination with SCM the project Procurement staffing plans, securing necessary approvals
- Ensures assigned personnel receive orientation and training, particularly in project-unique requirements
- Prepares or directs preparation of the project Procurement procedures in conjunction with Regional and Corporate functional management; contributes to the project procedures; monitors the Procurement team’s implementation of the project procedures; revises procedures and secures approvals as necessary
- Manages the development of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and the division of responsibility
- Manages own packages, if required by Project
- Coordinates Procurement execution plan with Engineering and Construction plans and operations to ensure that input from these disciplines will enable Procurement to perform its functions in accordance with project plans
- Reviews commitment approvals and execution/signature authorities and ensures commitments are made in accordance with Corporate and Procurement policies and procedures
- Monitors and evaluates performance of assigned project Procurement personnel
- Reviews evaluations with regional/global business unit functional managers of Supply Chain
- Collaborates on personnel development planning for assigned personnel with responsible Procurement managers
- Evaluates, advises, and acts to assure the availability of and the participation in development techniques, such as training and rotation to work assignments in other functions of Procurement
- Issues project Procurement status reports to project and regional/global business unit management
- Plans and directs the orderly closeout of Procurement operations, including destaffing, settlement of claims and back-charges, liquidated damages, and resolving punch list items assigned to Procurement
- Prepares, assembles, and issues a Procurement historical report for inclusion in the project historical report
- Prepares and edits presentations describing Procurement methods, trends of lead times, prices, or other relevant information within Procurement’s scope of activities
- Subject to required approvals, makes presentations to units of Bechtel, Customers, supplier organizations, or trade associations

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)



and 10-13 years of relevant experience in procurement (purchasing/expediting) or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Proficiency and experience in the formation and administration of orders through the several steps of bidder prequalification, compilation of bid requests, receipt of bids, bid evaluation, award, monitoring the performance of suppliers and buyers, backcharge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes, and other such related steps.
- Excellent communication, management and teamwork skills to interact with peers and upper management.
- Drafting and negotiation of contracts, changes. Be able to prepare, review, and negotiate contract terms.
- Knowledge of legal structures, commercial terms, and financial considerations in acquisitions and contracts.
- Understanding of contract types (EPC, services, rentals, materials) and when each applies
- Orientation to details.
- Support project leadership on contractual risk, change, and claims
- Knowledge of risk and insurance provisions, claims preparation and resolution strategies, in coordination with the legal and claims teams.
- Skilled in preparing clear, comprehensive correspondence and reports.
- Knowledge of general business practices and administrative procedures and oral communication regarding technical and production matters with both project personnel and supplier.
- Experience working in matrix environments, with multiple interfaces and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing sequence of equipment and materials.
- Experienced in developing and maintaining metrics reporting.
- Proficient in the use of management tools (Oracle, Primavera, Aconex, EBS, Unifier, ETA, PowerBi, etc.).
