Company Description Batera AI is an AI-native energy technology company based in Chile, focused on transforming how commercial and industrial customers consume electricity. The company uses artificial intelligence to flexibly manage energy demand, deciding in real time when to draw from the grid, store, or discharge energy to capture cheaper and cleaner power. Batera AI initially focuses on behind-the-meter battery energy storage systems (BESS), operated autonomously by its AI platform and offered through models where savings are shared with clients. The team is building Batera OS, a next-generation operating system for distributed energy, starting in Chile with the ambition to scale across Latin America. Batera AI works with large free-market customers above 300 kW of connected power and is part of Start-Up Chile BIG 12.
Role Description The Head of Artificial Intelligence will lead the end-to-end AI strategy and execution at Batera AI, driving the design, development, and deployment of AI agents that optimize energy consumption, storage, and dispatch. This full-time,



on-site role in Santiago involves overseeing model research and experimentation, guiding the integration of AI services into Batera OS, and ensuring robust performance in production environments. The person in this position will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and energy operations teams to define AI-driven features, prioritize initiatives, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. Daily work includes mentoring a multidisciplinary AI team, setting standards for data pipelines and ML operations, and continuously improving forecasting, optimization, and asset management models. The role also includes contributing to technical roadmap planning, representing AI capabilities in customer and partner discussions, and fostering a culture of innovation and responsible AI use.
