HSE Specialist (Health, Safety & Environment)

Location: Chile

For an important client in the industrial and engineering sector, we are seeking an experienced HSE Specialist (Health, Safety & Environment) to join their operations in Chile.

Position Overview

The HSE Specialist will be responsible for leading and ensuring the effective implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and programs across the organization. This role is focused on ensuring legal and corporate compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, protecting the environment, and safeguarding employee well-being through comprehensive risk management, training, operational controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with Chilean legal regulations and corporate standards related to occupational health, safety, and environmental management
- Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies, programs, and initiatives to foster a proactive safety culture
- Identify, assess, and control risks across facilities, processes, and operations, implementing preventive and corrective measures
- Lead incident investigations, audits, and safety inspections, ensuring timely follow-up and effective closure of corrective actions
- Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, drills, and emergency response activities, acting as the technical lead during critical situations
- Design and deliver HSE training programs and safety inductions for employees and contractors, strengthening preventive competencies
- Monitor HSE performance indicators, prepare reports, analyze trends,



and recommend continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, clients, and contractors to ensure compliance with HSE requirements, certifications, and industry best practices

Qualifications & Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or Technical Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Prevention, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field
- Valid SEREMI registration (Chile)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably within industrial operations, manufacturing plants, oil & gas, or industrial services
- Strong knowledge of Chilean occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation, including Law 16.744, subcontracting regulations, SEREMI requirements, SUSESO regulations, and related standards
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining HSE Management Systems, preferably under ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Solid experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, audits, inspections, and HSE performance metrics
- Experience managing contractors and interacting with regulatory authorities
- Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) is mandatory
- Availability to travel and work at operational sites as required
