As a Principal Artificial Intelligence within the Project Centre of Excellence (PCoE), you will partner with project teams across BHP’s general portfolio to identify opportunities where Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Digital technologies can create measurable business value.



You will work across the full solution lifecycle, from understanding project value drivers and business processes, identifying opportunities and developing business cases, through to designing, building and deploying production-ready solutions. Success in this role requires balancing technical expertise with strong business acumen, helping teams scope initiatives, manage delivery and measure realised value against the cost and value drivers that influence capital project outcomes.
You will develop Python applications and build scalable, maintainable software using modern engineering practices, including Git-based workflows, automated testing, CI/CD, code quality tooling and sound software design principles. You will also leverage machine learning, data science, Generative AI, SQL, MLOps and cloud technologies to solve complex business challenges and support data-driven decision making.
