We are looking for a Competitive Programming Expert — Problem Author to create challenging algorithmic problems and supporting content used to train advanced AI coding models. The idóneo candidate has a strong, proven competitive programming background, demonstrated through a Codeforces rating of 2200+ or equivalent IOI, ICPC, or olympiad achievement. You should be highly proficient in contest-level C++ and comfortable with Python, algorithms, data structures, and designing adversarial test cases.

This role is particularly well suited for top competitive programmers who enjoy creating difficult problems and finding subtle ways solutions can fail.

Key Responsibilities

- Create original competitive programming problems with clear statements, sound constraints, and well-defined intended solutions.
- Write correct reference solutions in C++ and Python.
- Create realistic deliberately-wrong solutions representing common algorithmic mistakes.
- Design and harden test cases, including edge cases, generators, stress tests, and adversarial/"hacking" tests.
- Analyze incorrect solutions and design inputs that expose subtle bugs or incorrect assumptions.
- Define appropriate constraints and test coverage to ensure problems meet the intended difficulty.
- Write validators, checkers, or other supporting tools when needed.
- Collaborate with other problem authors and reviewers to ensure the correctness and quality of problem packages.

Core Requirements

- Strong competitive programming background demonstrated through a public Codeforces profile or equivalent achievement.
- Competitive programming ability and a proven track record are key.
- Codeforces rating of 2200+ or equivalent IOI,

ICPC, national olympiad, or other recognized competitive programming achievement.
- Expert-level knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
- Fluent in contest-level C++, including STL and performance/complexity considerations.
- Comfortable writing Python for algorithmic problem solving and testing.
- Ability to explain why a solution is incorrect and construct test cases that reliably break it.
- Strong understanding of edge cases, stress testing, and adversarial test design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience setting or reviewing problems for Codeforces, ICPC, national olympiads, online judges, or other programming contests.
- Experience with testlib, including checkers, validators, generators, or interactors.
- Experience creating coding benchmarks or evaluation datasets for LLMs/AI coding models.
- Experience with AI coding evaluation, reinforcement learning datasets, or similar technical datasets.

Additional

- Project Length: 4–5 months initially, with potential for extension.
- Timezone: US Time zones
- IOI/ICPC alumni and top competitive programmers are especially encouraged to apply.
