Overview
As Specialist Ocean Freight you will ensure the smooth and timely processing of import and export shipments, while maintaining accurate documentation of all procedures and processes. You will support and advise customers, carry out customs clearance, and handle correspondence with customers, agents, and service providers. You will prepare offers, follow up on quotations, conduct sales negotiations, and ensure correct invoicing. In this role you will monitor deadlines, manage general organizational and administrative tasks, and process Dangerous Goods shipments in full compliance with applicable regulations.
You will also contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by reporting any unsafe or unhealthy conditions and suggesting improvements.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the smooth and on time processing of import and export shipments
Optimizing and securing the documentation of procedures and processes
Supporting and Advising customers
Carrying out customs clearance
Handling correspondence with customers, agents, and service providers
Preparation of offers and follow-up on the offer process
Conducting sales negotiations
Securing and processing invoices to customers
Monitoring of meetings and deadlines
Invoicing
Execution of general organizational and administrative activities
Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (as applicable)
Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/unsecure/unhealthy conditions and possible improvements
