Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a 75% of the top of Band 6 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 6 scale.

The Role
A Specialist clinical practitioner provides care, expert advice and support,



whilst providing expert surgical first assistance and professional clinical leadership within the perioperative environment and supporting the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of patient care. The post holder will assist the operating surgeon during surgical procedures, maintain high standards of clinical practice, and lead the theatre team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient outcomes.

As a nurse specialist, the role includes responsibility for staff supervision, education and development, stock and equipment management, service improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with organisational, professional, and regulatory standards and will act as a role model, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, continuous learning, and excellence in patient care whilst operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire.
