**As part of the continued growth of Bertling Bulk Services’ chartering activities in the Americas, we are looking for an experienced Chartering Manager to join our team in Chile.

Bertling combines a long-standing presence in international shipping with a highly commercial and entrepreneurial approach to today’s dry bulk markets. The successful candidate will join an expanding team with exposure to customers, owners, brokers and cargo opportunities across the Americas and international markets.

The role The Chartering Manager will be responsible for developing and executing commercial opportunities across the dry bulk market, including:

- Analysing freight markets and identifying cargo and tonnage opportunities
- Developing competitive pricing and negotiating charter party terms
- Building and maintaining relationships with cargo interests, shipowners and brokers
- Evaluating commercial risk and voyage profitability
- Coordinating closely with Operations throughout contract execution
- Developing new business and contributing to the continued growth of our activities in the region





We are looking for someone with:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in chartering, freight or a closely related commercial shipping role
- Proven industry experience and an established network within the shipping market
- A strong commercial mindset and sound negotiation skills
- Relevant higher education, preferably in shipping, maritime studies, economics, business, international trade or law
- A structured, accurate and reliable approach to work
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and make commercial decisions
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within an international team
- High level of commercial English The position is based in Chile and offers a competitive compensation package in line with the market and the candidate’s experience.
