About This Role
We are looking for a Senior Fraud Analyst to help strengthen our fraud prevention capabilities across digital transactions, customer journeys, and internal risk operations. This role will be responsible for analyzing fraud trends, designing and optimizing fraud rules, working with fraud prevention tools, and partnering closely with business, technology, data science, and operations teams to build scalable fraud detection and prevention solutions.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in fraud prevention, hands‑on knowledge of fraud tools and rule engines, strong analytical skills using SQL, Python, and BI platforms, and a solid understanding of machine learning concepts as they apply to fraud detection.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead fraud analysis across payment, account, identity, transaction, and operational risk scenarios to identify emerging patterns, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement.
- Design, test, monitor, and optimize fraud rules, strategies, and decisioning logic across fraud prevention tools and internal systems.
- Translate complex fraud rules, risk logic, and analytical findings into clear business language for stakeholders across operations, product, technology, and leadership.
- Use SQL, Python, and BI tools to analyze large datasets, build reporting, detect anomalies, measure rule performance, and support fraud strategy decisions.
- Partner with Technology, Data Science, Product, and Risk Operations teams to develop new internal fraud prevention solutions, improve fraud platforms, and support automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Data Science teams to support the development, validation, and implementation of fraud detection models, including providing business logic, fraud labels, feature ideas, and model performance feedback.
- Monitor fraud tool performance, rule effectiveness, false positives, approval rates, manual review volumes, chargebacks, losses, and customer friction.
- Identify gaps in current fraud controls and recommend improvements to rules, processes, tools, data flows, and decisioning frameworks.
- Support the implementation of new fraud tools, data sources, verification methods, and risk controls.
- Build dashboards, reports, and executive-level summaries that communicate fraud trends, business impact, and recommended actions.
- Act as a subject matter expert on fraud patterns, fraud tools, rule logic,
and prevention strategies.
Position Requirements
- Experience in e-commerce, fintech, payments, banking, marketplaces, digital identity, or online platforms.
- Experience with chargeback analysis, payment fraud, account takeover, synthetic identity, promo abuse, refund abuse, or mule activity.
- Familiarity with APIs, event-based data flows, data pipelines, or system integrations.
- Experience supporting or validating machine learning fraud models.
- Experience building fraud strategy documentation, rule governance, performance monitoring, or risk control frameworks.
- Knowledge of customer authentication, step‑up verification, device intelligence, behavioral signals, identity verification, or third‑party fraud tools.
