About the Role

As a Lead Principal Business Planning professional within our Non-Operated Joint Ventures (NOJV) portfolio, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality business planning across multiple planning horizons, helping ensure sustainable production, cost, and value outcomes.
You will provide technical expertise across long-term, medium-term, budget, and forecast planning processes, identifying risks, opportunities, and value creation initiatives across the portfolio. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will evaluate scenarios, support capital prioritization, and deliver insights that enable robust, evidence-based decision-making.
As a trusted advisor, you will translate complex technical information into clear recommendations for a broad range of stakeholders, helping protect and maximize BHP's interests as a joint venture investor. Through strong analytical capability, operational planning excellence, and collaboration across functions, you will contribute to the long-term success of our assets and portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

- Support long-term, medium-term, budget, and forecast planning processes, identifying risks and mitigation actions to support production and cost commitments.
- Assess and communicate the risk-reward profile of non-operated joint venture business plans across multiple planning horizons.
- Support the NOJV Corporate Alignment Planning (CAP) process, including Life of Asset,



Portfolio Valuation, 5-Year Planning, and 2-Year Budget deliverables.
- Identify value creation opportunities through operational planning excellence, scenario analysis, and capital prioritization.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across HSS, Risk, Digital & Information, and other functions to align key value drivers, risks, and uncertainties.
- Develop monthly forecasts and support annual production and cost guidance commitments.
- Deliver Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves risk reviews across joint venture assets.
- Perform analysis and provide recommendations that support evidence-based decision-making and protect BHP's interests as an investor.
- Prepare presentations and facilitate workshops, translating complex information into clear, engaging, and actionable insights.
- Promote continuous improvement, strong customer focus, and integrated planning outcomes while supporting BHP's commitment to safety, value, and operational excellence.

About You

- A university degree in Mining Engineering. An MBA or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- More than 10 years of experience in mine operations, resource engineering, and asset planning activities,



particularly within large-scale mining operations and multidisciplinary environments.
- Strong business acumen, commercial awareness, and influencing capabilities.
- Experience supporting business planning processes, including long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, operational planning, assurance activities, and reporting.
- Demonstrated exposure to complex, matrixed mining environments.
- Proven ability to evaluate, structure, and present complex technical and business information in a clear, comparable, and decision-ready format.
- Experience preparing materials for Boards, Committees, and executive decision-makers, translating technical topics into concise and impactful recommendations.
- Ability to mobilize subject matter experts and stakeholders through influence, credibility, collaboration, and coordination without formal authority.
- Exposure to joint venture environments and governance processes, including engagement with multiple stakeholders and partnership models, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate data and technical insights for diverse audiences.
- Experience working within general and cross-cultural environments, with a strong commitment to inclusion and collaboration.
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
- Availability to travel to different locations as required.
- Mandatory English communication skills.
- Spanish and Portuguese language capability is desirable.
