Role: BESS SKID ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN – LEVEL I / LEVEL II Texas, United States
Project Duration: Approximately 6 Weeks, Schedule: 5 Days/Week, 10 Hours/Day, Work Environment: Manufacturing Plant / Assembly Line, Project: Fluence BESS Skid Assembly
Job Overview
We are seeking Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians to support the complete assembly of Fluence Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) skids at a manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. Technicians will work in a structured production environment performing a combination of mechanical and electrical assembly, including installation, wiring, terminations, connections, and component installation.
Primary Responsibilities
· Perform mechanical assembly and installation of BESS skid components.
· Install electrical components, wiring, cables, and related hardware.
· Perform basic electrical wiring, terminations, and connections.
· Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and standard assembly equipment.
· Follow mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, work instructions, and production procedures.
· Install, route, secure, and label cables and wiring.
· Perform basic quality checks and inspect completed work.
· Identify and report defective components or assembly issues.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Work efficiently while meeting production and quality requirements.
Required Skills
· 1+ year of mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, assembly, or related hands-on experience preferred.
· Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
· Comfortable using hand and power tools.
· Experience with wiring, cable routing, and electrical terminations preferred.
· Ability to read and follow drawings, diagrams, and written instructions.
· Manufacturing, renewable energy, industrial,
or BESS experience is a plus.
· OSHA 10 certification preferred.
· NFPA 70E training is preferred.
· Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
· Ability to work up to 10-hour shift, 5 days per week.
Safety Requirements
Work will primarily be performed on de-energized equipment. However, technicians may be involved in battery installation where electrical voltage may be present. Candidates must follow all customer safety procedures, PPE requirements, OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E practices, and applicable lockout/tagout procedures.
Adecuado Candidate: A hands-on mechanical/electrical technician with manufacturing or assembly experience who is reliable, safety-focused, comfortable with tools, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced BESS production environment.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout a 10-hour shift.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting of heavier items with team assistance or mechanical aid.
· Ability to work in various physical positions, including overhead, at floor level, and in confined or tight spaces around skid frames and enclosures.
· Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient for fastening, wiring, and precision assembly tasks.
· Ability to safely climb ladders or step stools and work from elevated platforms as needed.
· Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe boots, etc.) for the full duration of the shift.
· Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
· Visual acuity is sufficient to read drawings, wiring diagrams, and small component labeling.
