Job Description: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is a critical role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of production equipment and facility systems. This position involves performing advanced troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs on complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on all production and facility equipment, including packaging equipment, conveyor systems, pumps, gear reducers, and pneumatic/hydraulic components.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues in mechanical systems (bearings, motors, shafts, seals, belts, gearboxes) and electrical systems (up to 480V, PLCs, DC drives, motor starters, control panels).
- Troubleshoot and maintain automated systems, robotics, and control circuits using schematics, blueprints, and precision instruments like multimeters and meggers.
- Perform basic machining and welding tasks to fabricate or repair parts as needed (e.g., lathe, drill press, grinder).
Documentation & Compliance
- Document all work orders, inspections, and conditions found in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as SAP.
- Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including OSHA's Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Partner with production teams and engineers to suggest and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and equipment reliability.
- Assist in training and supporting other maintenance team members.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Experience: Minimum of 1-7 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field, or a trade school certificate is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Electrical: Strong knowledge of electrical theory, 3-phase power, low and high voltage systems, and ability to read electrical schematics.
- Mechanical: Proficient in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of components like bearings, seals, conveyors, and gear reducers.
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics: Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, and pumps.
- Controls: Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and control systems.
- Tools: Proficient with standard hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) or Predictive/Precision Maintenance Certifications.
- CMMS Experience: Experience with SAP or similar maintenance software.
- Industry Experience: Experience in food processing, automotive, or other heavy-industry settings.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle/feel, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Environment: Work is typically performed in a factory/plant environment, which may involve exposure to heat, cold, dust, loud noise, and potentially hazardous materials. Employees must be comfortable working around live electricity and moving machinery.

Pay: $373,499 - $1,311,036 per month
