Job Description: Construction Laborer
Job Title: Construction Laborer / General Construction Worker
Department: Operations / Field Operations
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Foreman
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. This role requires physical stamina, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards, setting up scaffolding, and loading/unloading building materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the day and perform final site cleanup upon project completion.
- Material Handling: Transport, lift, and carry heavy materials such as cement, sand, gravel, lumber, and steel beams. Mix, pour, and spread materials like concrete and mortar.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain hand tools (shovels, hammers, levels) and power tools (drills, saws, jackhammers). Safely operate heavy machinery when required (e.g., forklifts, excavators) under supervision.
- Assisting Skilled Trades: Assist carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers with their tasks as directed. Hold materials, take measurements, and help install fixtures or structural components.
- Demolition: Perform manual demolition tasks, including breaking up concrete, removing drywall, and dismantling old structures.
- Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all OSHA and company safety regulations. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required (on-the-job training is available).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50-100 lbs (23-45 kg) regularly; ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and able to work a versátil schedule, including overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Communication: Basic understanding of English (ability to read instructions, follow verbal commands, and understand safety warnings).
- Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of construction techniques (formwork, rebar installation, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license (Class C or CDL is a plus).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is an advantage.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Environment: Fast-paced outdoor and indoor construction sites with exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
- Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday–Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or similar), with overtime, weekend, and night shifts available based on project deadlines.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $450,437 - $848,770 per month
