Job Title: Automotive Mechanic / Auto Mechanic

Reports to: Workshop Supervisor / Service Manager
Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Automotive Mechanic to join our service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and performing at their best .

The idóneo candidate has a strong technical background, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to perform everything from routine maintenance to complex mechanical and electrical repairs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety .

Key Responsibilities

- Vehicle Diagnostics: Inspect vehicles, road test motor vehicles, and use computerized diagnostic equipment and other testing devices to identify faults and malfunctions in automotive systems .
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups. Repair or replace defective parts and components of engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering and suspension, and electrical systems .
- System Specialization: Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of various automotive systems, including fuel systems, emission control, exhaust, cooling and climate control (HVAC), and hydraulic systems .
- Quality Assurance: Test and adjust repaired systems to meet the manufacturer's performance specifications. Conduct thorough inspections after repairs to ensure mechanical soundness .
- Customer Service & Communication:



Communicate with customers in non-technical language to explain repairs performed, identify future repair requirements, and provide repair estimates and timelines .
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and time spent. Complete reports to document problems and work performed .
- Safety & Maintenance: Follow proper safety protocols, maintain an organized and clean work area, and adhere to all health and safety guidelines . Inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for use .
- Professional Development: Maintain an awareness of new automotive technologies and participate in ongoing technical training and certification programs .

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification .
- Completion of a vocational course in Automotive Technology or a related field is required .
- A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred .
- A valid driver's license is required .

Technical Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of vehicle troubleshooting, diagnostics, and mechanical systems .




- Knowledge of operating principles of gasoline and diesel engines .
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment .
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment .

Key Competencies & Abilities:

- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail .
- Physical Stamina: Physical strength, flexibility, and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects and work in various positions (standing, bending, crouching) .
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills to relay accurate information to team members, customers, and management .
- Work Ethic: Reliable, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team .

Preferred Qualifications:

- Trade certification (e.g., Red Seal endorsement) or state/provincial license (where applicable) is an asset .
- TESDA certification (e.g., NC II in Automotive Servicing) is a plus .
- Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle systems is beneficial .
- ASE Certifications are a significant advantage for U.S.-based positions .

Working Conditions

- Work is performed primarily in a garage or workshop setting .
- Exposure to hazardous materials, loud noise, and extreme temperatures is common .
- Work requires physical activity, including handling heavy parts and working in awkward positions .
- May require overtime or weekend work depending on service demand .

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $430,338 - $1,142,006 per month

Work Location: In person
