Job Description: Senior Accountant (Analista Contable Senior)

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role involves managing the full accounting cycle, from preparing journal entries and reconciliations to leading month-end and year-end closing processes. The idóneo candidate will be a detail-oriented professional who can review the work of junior staff, collaborate with internal and external auditors, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close Process

- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, amortizations, deferrals, and reclassifications, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, PFRS, NIIF).
- Own and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, providing variance analysis and commentary.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

Core Accounting Functions

- Manage and reconcile key accounts, including bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Oversee revenue recognition processes in accordance with standards like PFRS 15 / ASC 606.
- Maintain and track fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and periodic asset reviews.
- Support cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation and COGS calculations.

Audit, Compliance & Control

- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, preparing audit schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies, local tax regulations (e.g., SUNAT, IMSS), and corporate policies.




- Proactively identify and resolve accounting issues, recommending corrective actions to strengthen controls.

Process Improvement & Technology

- Propose and lead the implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to increase efficiency in the accounting cycle.
- Utilize advanced Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks Online) to manage data effectively and produce high-quality reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Shared Services, IT) to support ERP system enhancements and other transformation projects.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 4-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a solid understanding of the complete accounting cycle.
- Experience working with external auditors or in a role with significant audit support responsibilities is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, PFRS, NIIF) and tax laws.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Hands-on experience with major ERP systems such as SAP is strongly preferred, with experience in NetSuite, Oracle, or QuickBooks Online also being highly valued.
- Experience with Power BI or other data analysis tools for generating reports and dashboards is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $789,817 - $1,676,712 per month

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
