Job Title: Supervisor de Producción Minera

Reports To: Superintendent de Mina / Jefe de Turno

1. Mission / Objective To lead and coordinate mining production crews to achieve operational targets (tons moved, ore grade, and utilization) in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Supervisor ensures that all activities strictly adhere to the Mine Plan, Health & Safety regulations, and Environmental Management standards.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Safety & Leadership (Non-Negotiable)

- Safety First: Enforce strict compliance with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Critical Risk Protocols (CRPs). Conduct daily Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and pre-start risk assessments (JHA/JSA).
- Permits: Verify the correct issuance and closure of work permits (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space, Isolation) before operations commence.
- Zero Harm: Lead by example regarding PPE usage and defensive driving. Immediately intervene to stop any unsafe act or condition (Stop Work Authority).
- Incident Investigation: Lead or participate in incident/accident investigations using methodologies like ICAM or 5 Whys to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

B. Production & Operations Management

- Target Achievement: Execute the daily/weekly mine plan to ensure the shift achieves budgeted tonnage, waste movement, and ore delivery to the crusher/stockpile.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate heavy mining equipment (Excavators, Shovels, Haul Trucks, Dozers, Graders) to optimize cycle times and mitigate bottlenecks.
- Quality Control: Monitor ore grade control and dilution management. Ensure correct material is directed to the leach pad, stockpile, or waste dump according to geological specifications.
- Bench Management: Ensure proper bench height, floor width, and ramp maintenance to facilitate safe haul road conditions.

C. Fleet & Maintenance Coordination

- Equipment Utilization: Monitor equipment telematics (Fleet Management Systems – e.g., Wenco, Modular,



Minestar) to maximize machine availability and utilization.
- Coordination with Maintenance: Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to schedule mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and tire changes without compromising production targets.
- Forecasting: Anticipate operational issues (e.g., weather, geotechnical events) and adjust shift activities proactively.

D. People Management & Development

- Crew Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of Operators, Foremen, and Support Staff (up to [25] people).
- Training: Identify training gaps in operators (e.g., high-risk maneuvers, new equipment) and coordinate simulator or on-the-job training.
- Shift Handover: Ensure a thorough and concise shift-to-shift handover process, communicating geotechnical conditions, active blast zones, and equipment status clearly.

E. Administrative & Reporting

- Shift Reports: Prepare and submit daily production reports detailing volumes, delays, equipment downtime, and safety observations.
- Budget Control: Manage shift operational costs (fuel, tires, explosives) within the established budget constraints.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding dust control, water management, and waste disposal.

3. Qualifications & RequirementsAcademic Background

- Degree: Mining Engineer, Civil Engineer (Mechanics/Metallurgy), or Industrial Engineer (Heavy Industry orientation).
- Postgraduate: Diploma in Safety Management, Mine Planning, or Business Administration is a plus.

Professional Experience

- Minimum:



5 to 7 years of experience in open-pit or underground mining operations.
- Specific: At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Technical: Proven track record managing large fleets (e.g., >240-ton trucks, Electric Shovels, or LHDs).

Technical Skills

- Software: Proficiency in Fleet Management Systems (FMS), Dispatch Systems, and MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint). Knowledge of Surpac, Deswik, or MineSight is advantageous.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of blasting patterns, drainage control, slope stability, and ventilation (for underground).

Certifications (Desired)

- Valid Driver’s License.
- Mine Rescue Certification.
- First Aid & CPR.
- Safety Supervisor Certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or local equivalent).

4. Behavioral Competencies

- Leadership & Influence: Ability to motivate diverse teams in high-pressure environments.
- Decision-Making: Quick, analytical, and data-driven decision-making under uncertainty.
- Communication: Clear, assertive, and concise communication (Spanish; English preferred).
- Resilience: Ability to handle rotational shifts, long hours, and extreme weather conditions.
- Conflict Resolution: Capable of managing interpersonal conflicts and union dynamics effectively.

5. Physical & Working Conditions

- Environment: Exposure to high altitude, dust, heat, or cold depending on location.
- PPE: Must wear full PPE (Helmet, Glasses, Vest, Steel-toe boots) at all times in the field.
- Schedule: Must be available for extended shifts, night shifts, and emergency call-outs.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Safety: Zero Lost-Time Injuries (LTIs) / Zero High-Potential Incidents.
- Production: % Achievement of tons moved per shift vs. plan.
- Cost: Variance of $/ton vs. Budget.
- Fleet: Utilization Rate (≥85%) and Mechanical Availability.
- Quality: % of Ore delivered within spec (Grade variability).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $67,806 - $2,371,925 per month
