- 6 to 10+ years building production software systems, end-to-end.
- Track record of technical leadership in a software team: setting architecture, leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and being accountable for a squad's technical decisions.
- Experience leading, developing, and supporting engineers beyond the technical, including coaching, regular 1:1s, feedback, and helping people grow and perform, as a meaningful part of the role alongside hands-on technical leadership.
- Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET preferred; other OOP languages welcome (Java, Kotlin, Go, or equivalent).
- Working frontend fluency with Vue.js, React, or equivalent.
- Strong system design experience, including distributed systems and service-oriented or microservices architecture.
- Payments, FX, or regulated-industry experience.
- SQL and relational database fundamentals.
- Production experience with AWS, including native services such as SQS, DynamoDB, S3, ECS, and Lambda, and ownership of CI/CD pipelines including release gating (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
- Daily use of agentic coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalent) across the SDLC, with a clear point of view on how a team should adopt AI.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate technical decisions for product and business audiences.

About the Role

This person will lead both the technical direction and people development for the team, partnering closely with Product Management while remaining involved in architecture, API design, coding, delivery, reliability, and production support. Responsibilities

Lead the technical strategy for ERP integrations across platforms such as Sage, Business Central, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, and Xero.
