About the Role
This role is focused on Hosting Operations: you will be the local technical owner for hosted customer systems in Arica, responsible for keeping the infrastructure reliable, properly maintained, and operational. The role combines hands‑on work with satellite ground systems, RF, networking, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, incident response, and customer coordination.
You will also provide coordinated support to hosted systems in Santiago and other SSC Space locations when required.

Responsibilities

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hosted ground systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot antennas/user terminals, RF paths, network connectivity, power, environmental alarms, and related equipment.
- Coordinate local response and service restoration during technical incidents.
- Support planned maintenance and change activities with customers, GNOC, engineering teams, and vendors.
- Maintain technical documentation, asset records, spare parts, tools, and test equipment.
- Record maintenance activities and incidents in SSC systems.
- Participate in customer meetings and prepare technical and operational reports.
- Support knowledge transfer and cross‑training to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

- Technical or bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or a related field,



or equivalent relevant experience.
- Hands‑on experience with telecommunications, satellite ground systems, RF, networking, or similar technical infrastructure.
- Practical networking and IT skills, including IP configuration and Ethernet troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of RF and satellite communications fundamentals.
- Working proficiency in spoken and written English for technical coordination with international teams.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot methodically, and respond effectively during incidents.
- Ability to perform hands‑on field work in accordance with applicable safety procedures.
- Valid driver's license.

Experience with satellite ground infrastructure, remote monitoring, fiber optics, power systems, or hardware/software integration is an advantage.

Location & Working Conditions
This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at Chacalluta Ground Station in Arica.
The role includes office and field work, occasional travel to Santiago and other SSC Space locations, and may occasionally require support outside normal business hours during incidents or planned maintenance.
