Job Title: Logistics Specialist
About the Role
As a Logistics Specialist, you are the key driver of efficient and reliable supply chain operations. You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries, cost optimization, and exceptional service. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, tackling complex logistics challenges and building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Your mission is to support business growth by optimizing supply chain activities, reducing operational costs, and improving delivery performance .
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Shipment Management
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including planning, scheduling, and tracking freight from pickup through delivery .
- Manage sales order processing and ensure timely fulfillment of orders .
- Select appropriate modes of transport and carriers, negotiating competitive rates while balancing service quality and profitability .
- Handle import and export documentation, ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and Incoterms .
- Proactively monitor freight and resolve any service disruptions, delays, or transportation issues .
Inventory & Performance
- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels .
- Manage reverse logistics processes for returns and surplus materials .
- Track orders and monitor transit times to ensure delivery performance meets KPIs .
- Prepare and analyze logistics reports, including performance metrics on carriers and service providers .
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and internal stakeholders .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g.,
Customer Service, Sales, Planning) to ensure smooth product flow and meet customer requirements .
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains within logistics operations .
- Assist with freight invoice verification, cost control, and budget reconciliation .
Required Qualifications Experience & Education
- 2-5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or freight operations .
- A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred .
Technical & Professional Skills
- Systems Proficiency: Strong knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel .
- Analytical & Data Skills: Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and use insights to drive decisions. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus .
- Core Competencies: Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills with a high attention to detail .
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, suppliers, and internal teams .
- Regulatory Knowledge: A clear understanding of relevant regulations to ensure full compliance with legal requirements .
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific industries such as FMCG, manufacturing, or retail .
- Knowledge of international shipping, domestic freight distribution, and dangerous goods handling .
- Fluency in additional languages as required by the region (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, Romanian)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $18,000,000 - $24,000,000 per year
