Job Summary

Infocom Fibre SpA is seeking a skilled and reliable Técnico/a de Instalación de Redes de Fibra Óptica to join our telecommunications team in Las Condes, Santiago. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber-optic network infrastructure for residential, commercial, and telecommunications applications.

The adecuado candidate will have practical experience with fiber-optic installation and termination, network testing equipment, structured cabling, and troubleshooting, along with a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Install and maintain fiber-optic cables and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Perform fiber-optic cable routing, splicing, termination, and connector installation.
- Install network equipment, distribution boxes, patch panels, and related components.
- Conduct fiber-optic testing using optical power meters, OTDRs, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot fiber-optic faults, signal loss, connectivity issues, and damaged cables.
- Read and interpret network diagrams, installation plans, and technical documentation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fiber-optic networks.
- Verify installations meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Document installation activities, test results, equipment, and network changes.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, customers, and other field technicians.
- Follow established safety procedures when working with telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment, vehicles, and installation materials in good working condition.
- Provide technical support during network upgrades, expansions, and repair activities.





Requirements
- Technical qualification in Telecommunications, Networking, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience installing or maintaining fiber-optic networks is preferred.
- Knowledge of fiber-optic splicing, termination, connectors, and cable handling.
- Familiarity with OTDRs, optical power meters, light sources, and other fiber-testing equipment.
- Understanding of basic telecommunications and networking concepts.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and network plans.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to installation quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
- Willingness to work at customer sites and in outdoor or field environments.
- Valid driver's license is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FTTH, FTTB, or other fiber-to-the-premises technologies.
- Knowledge of structured cabling and Ethernet networks.
- Experience with fiber-optic fusion splicing equipment.
- Familiarity with telecommunications standards and safety procedures.
- Experience documenting field installations using digital tools or work-order systems.
- Ability to work at heights or in confined technical spaces when required.
