Altura BioInnovations Ltd. is a research‑driven biotech startup dedicated to creating sustainable agricultural bioproducts—such as biofertilizers and plant‑protective microbes—for Chile’s farming sector and export markets. We are looking for a proactive Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and acquisition of raw materials, laboratory supplies, and production equipment that enable our innovative product pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for raw biological inputs, chemicals, packaging, and laboratory equipment, ensuring they meet quality, sustainability, and regulatory standards.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements to achieve cost‑effective and reliable supply contracts.
- Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate with logistics to maintain optimal inventory levels for research and production.
- Conduct market research and supplier‑performance analyses to mitigate risks, anticipate shortages, and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with R&D;, production, and quality‑assurance teams to align procurement with product development timelines and specifications.




- Ensure compliance with Chilean export regulations, biosafety guidelines, and corporate sustainability policies.
- Maintain accurate procurement records in the ERP system and generate reports on spend, savings, and supplier performance for senior management.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Biotechnology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in biotech, life‑science, or agricultural‑technology environments.
- Proven negotiation skills and a track record of achieving cost reductions while maintaining supplier quality.
- Strong analytical abilities; proficiency with ERP or procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo) and advanced Excel/Power BI skills.
- Knowledge of biosafety, GMO, and agricultural‑product regulations in Chile and international markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in Spanish and a working proficiency in English.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.

Compensation

- Competitive hourly rate: CLP 17,700 – CLP 28,800 (based on experience and qualifications).
