SkyWorld Cargo Chile, an international freight forwarder renowned for air and sea logistics, customs clearance, and temperature‑controlled shipping of high‑value goods across Latin America, is expanding its technical team. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help maintain and improve our cargo handling equipment and transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, evaluate, and maintain mechanical systems used in loading, unloading, and securing cargo on aircraft, vessels, and trucks.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot failures, and oversee repairs of conveyors, forklifts, palletizers, refrigeration units, and other specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with operations, safety, and quality teams to ensure compliance with international freight regulations and temperature‑controlled handling requirements.
- Conduct stress‑analysis, CAD modeling, and FEA simulations for equipment upgrades or new installations.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, maintenance schedules, and technical manuals.




- Support continuous‑improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing downtime, and enhancing safety.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, maintenance, or industrial engineering, preferably in logistics, transportation, or cargo handling environments.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and familiarity with finite‑element analysis tools.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment, refrigeration systems, and HVAC basics for temperature‑controlled shipments.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance in air and sea freight operations.

Compensation

- Competitive hourly rate: CLP 9,500 – CLP 14,700 (based on experience and qualifications).
