Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities and develop effective sourcing strategies for technology, professional services, and operational requirements.
The successful candidate will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, oversee purchasing processes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that procurement activities meet quality, compliance, and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process from sourcing and supplier evaluation through contract negotiation and delivery.
- Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers and service providers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, service-level agreements, and other commercial conditions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery, pricing, and compliance.
- Lead competitive bidding, requests for proposals, and quotation processes.
- Analyze market conditions and identify cost-saving and value-optimization opportunities.
- Establish procurement policies, procedures, controls, and approval processes.
- Monitor purchasing budgets and procurement-related expenditures.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, purchase orders,
and procurement documentation.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, IT, legal, project-management, and leadership teams.
- Ensure purchases comply with company policies and applicable Chilean regulations.
- Manage procurement risks, supplier dependencies, and business-continuity concerns.
- Track procurement KPIs, savings, supplier performance, and purchasing activity.
- Prepare procurement reports, forecasts, and recommendations for senior management.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve procurement processes.
- Support contract renewals and supplier negotiations.
- Lead and mentor procurement or purchasing staff as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, purchasing, or supply-chain management.
- At least 2 years of experience in procurement leadership or management.
- Proven experience negotiating supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing and supplier-management principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong analytical and cost-analysis capabilities.
- Experience using ERP and procurement-management systems.
- Strong understanding of procurement controls, policies, and compliance.
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience procuring IT services, software, cloud services, consulting, hardware, or technology solutions.
- Previous experience in digital transformation, manufacturing, logistics, technology, or professional services.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Experience with e-procurement and supplier-management platforms.
- Knowledge of Chilean commercial and procurement regulations.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience managing strategic or international suppliers.
- Strong English communication skills for international supplier negotiations.
- Experience implementing procurement-process improvements or automation.
- Strong knowledge of spend analysis, total cost of ownership, and supplier-risk management.
