Associate – Credit Risk

Risk Management Department | Santiago, Chile | On-site

Bank of China, Agencia en Chile, is looking for an Associate – Credit Risk to join its Risk Management Department.

This position will be responsible for conducting credit risk analysis for the Branch’s corporate banking portfolio and supporting the Comprehensive Risk Management framework. The role requires strong analytical judgment, solid corporate credit experience, and the ability to work across different risk disciplines in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct due diligence and credit analysis for corporate credit proposals and annual reviews.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flows, industry conditions, market risks, and borrower risk profiles.
- Prepare structured credit reports and preliminary recommendations for the Credit Approval Committee.
- Monitor assigned credit exposures, including covenant compliance, early-warning indicators, waivers, and changes in borrowers’ risk profiles.
- Maintain complete and audit-ready credit files in accordance with CMF requirements and Bank of China’s internal governance standards.
- Support the Branch’s Comprehensive Risk Management program, including risk assessments, monitoring, documentation, and remediation follow-up.




- Prepare and contribute to regulatory credit risk reports submitted to the CMF and reports required by Head Office.
- Support internal and external audits and contribute to the development and updating of risk policies and procedures.

Candidate profile
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in credit risk management within banking or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate credit due diligence.
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, cash-flow modelling, and corporate credit assessment.
- Knowledge of Chilean CMF credit risk requirements and Basel standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modelling.
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- Experience with CMF credit reporting or other risk management functions is considered an advantage.
- FRM candidacy or another risk management certification is desirable.
