SLR Consulting LATAM is seeking a professional who is ready to put into practice academic and professional foundational principles in service of the sustainability transformation of our clients.
As an Analyst at our Energy Advisory team, you will work on internal and external projects alongside our other analysts and consultants, under the direction of senior team members. Your sustainability projects may cover a variety of sectors and topics to broaden your skills, regardless of your technical or industry knowledge.
The Analyst will support a wide range of energy transition, climate finance and sustainable development assignments across Latin America and internationally. Projects may include support to multilateral development banks, UN agencies, climate funds, governments and private sector clients. The role will involve technical research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, proposal development and the preparation of high-quality technical deliverables.
Some of your general responsibilities may include:
- Conducting research leveraging SLR experts and external resources on industry trends, markets, or sustainability technologies, quickly becoming an expert on the team.
- Structuring and leading analysis of data to develop unique insights; developing leave-behind models.
- Synthesizing research and analysis into compelling messages; structuring and preparing high-quality client-facing materials, such as discussion documents project deliverables.
- Contributing to business development, providing support in the development and preparation of proposals; development of new initiatives and outreach to clients.
- Supporting donor-funded and international development assignments, including stakeholder mapping,
background research, development of results frameworks, preparation of reports and presentations, and coordination with project teams.
- Planning and preparing impactful client meetings using best-in-class facilitation techniques
- Frequently collaborating with and receiving coaching from our senior leadership team.
- Ad hoc requests made by more senior team leaders to help meet client deadlines or other project needs.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (industrial / chemical / electrical / mechanical / environmental / mining / energy / water or related discipline), with a strong academic record. Candidates with additional exposure to sustainability, climate change, economics or finance would be highly valued.
- Coursework or practical experience in business strategy; energy and/or sustainability.
- Understanding of sustainable development principles and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Exposure to donor-funded projects, international development programmes or climate finance initiatives is highly desirable.
Experience working with organisations such as the GEF, GCF, development banks, UN agencies or bilateral donors would be an advantage.
- Strong interest in energy transition, renewable energy, energy efficiency, industrial decarbonisation, climate finance and sustainable infrastructure.
- Fluent spoken and written English - This is essential since we work very closely with English-speaking global teams. Other languages such as French, Portuguese etc are also valued.
- Demonstrated proactiveness, leadership and people skills through past experiences in extracurricular activities.
- High-level analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail with excellent judgement capabilities
- Ability to thrive in the usage of digital tools and easiness to tackle tasks that involve coding or learning a new coding language/software. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with data analytics, modelling, Power BI, GIS, Python or other analytical tools would be an advantage.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple deliverable deadlines.
- Interest in stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and client interaction.
- Capacity to deliver high quality output while managing strict deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment, as well as autonomously.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
The position is hybrid, with an expectation of 2 days/week in the office. Occasional travel to client/project sites may be required.
