Project Overview:
Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide IT operational/technical project support. You will define the IT infrastructure, network, and communication requirements for site offices, implement and support hardware deployments, and evaluate new software upgrades and enhancements. Your work will ensure information technology is tailored to the project, driving successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
Major Responsibilities:
- Providing IT operational/technical support on small to medium-scale projects and/or a medium level of complexity, scope, and activities; and/or acts as a lead for a small team.
- Implementing and supporting IT hardware deployments and network infrastructure systems following and adhering to Corporate, GBU and Project IT procedures, standards, and security requirements.
- Building and updating the standard GBU software portfolio with GBU functional and corporate input.
- Coordinating and conducting evaluations of new software and evaluates new upgrades, enhancements, and security patches.
- Participating in the development of the standard GBU processes, policies, and procedures.
- Participating in IS&T and automation/IM Planning and cost estimating for proposals, studies, and projects.
- Leading requirements reviews with functions and other business stakeholders.
- Developing complex IT reports, dashboards and automates workflows.
- Providing metrics for IS&T governance compliance.
- Providing input to technical scopes of work for contractors.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Prior experience in project IS&T delivery within an EPC environment.
- Project IT planning, cost estimation, and budget control.
- Governance, standards, and audit compliance.
- Proven track record of team supervision and leadership.
- Able to communicate clearly in technical terms with project and integral IS&T peers.
- Able to translate technical communications into practical terms for discussion with management teams.
- Knowledge of ITIL-based governance or Bechtel-specific IS&T work processes and planning methodologies to support study and project execution.
- Broad knowledge of hardware and operating systems including network architecture and communications infrastructure
- Knowledge of EPC industry work processes, applications and data integration requirements to a level which allows development of clear documentation and articulation of project IS&T execution plans to support project teams.
- Ability to articulate ideas and to write clear and concise reports.
- Ability to identify, track, escalate and resolve problems using comprehensive techniques and methods of troubleshooting end-user problems.
