Role: Associate Threat Analyst — BioCatch

About the Role

BioCatch is the leader in Behavioral Biometrics, helping 34 of the world's top 100 banks and 340 financial institutions combat fraud through actionable behavioral insights. We're looking for a Threat Analyst to help strengthen our customers' ability to anticipate, detect, and mitigate emerging fraud threats — combining specialized domain expertise, data analytics, continuous control optimization, and capability transfer to internal teams.

This is a consultancy-style role blending advanced analytics, strategic fraud advisory, and cross-level communication (from C-suite to operational fraud investigators). You'll work autonomously as part of a globally distributed Threat Analyst network.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fraud Analysis & Detection

Design, test, implement, and optimize real-time tactical rules and controls to promptly detect and mitigate fraud attacks and emerging typologies.

2. Threat Research & New Typologies

Analyze emerging patterns and behaviors alongside Data Science and the customer's specialized teams, covering Account Takeover (ATO), fraudulent account openings, Remote Access Trojans/Tools (RAT), social engineering, digital scams, and mule account detection.

3. Analytics & Control Optimization

Analyze transactional data and customer behavior to identify risk patterns and control gaps. Propose adjustments that increase detection capability, reduce losses, and optimize false positives — using a data-driven approach to prove BioCatch's value against success criteria in proof-of-value and pilot projects.

4. Specialized Advisory & Knowledge Transfer

Provide SME advisory to maximize customer value from BioCatch solutions. Transfer knowledge to internal teams,

educate new/potential customers on Behavioral Biometrics, and communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and executive audiences.

5. Customer & Field Engagement

Maintain strong relationships across the customer's fraud-fighting functions. Work tactically to deploy rules for acute fraud attacks. Share field learnings with Sales Enablement and act as a voice of the customer back to BioCatch product/Data Science teams.

6. Reporting & Thought Leadership

Deliver reporting and insights on fraud detection performance. Strive to be a thought leader in the fraud prevention space, supporting BioCatch Sales in new customer acquisition.

Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

- At least 3 years of experience in fraud analysis, threat analysis, or data analytics — preferably at financial institutions.
- Hands-on experience with fraud prevention/detection and transaction monitoring platforms or tools.
- Bachelor's/professional degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
- Intermediate-to-advanced SQL required.
- Python, statistical modeling, advanced analytics, and anomaly detection techniques strongly valued.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish; Portuguese a nice-to-have.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical analysis into actionable, executive-ready recommendations.
- Strong track record building relationships across Fraud, Technology, Data Science, Risk, and Business teams.
- Self-starter, quick learner, comfortable working autonomously with ambiguity.

Logistics

- Full-time.
- On-site presence required at the office (typically 4 days/week) - Santiago, Chile.
- Availability for occasional travel to internal meetings.
- Submit CV in English.
