Description
The Project Engineer – Pipelines will support the planning, coordination, and execution of pipeline engineering activities across the project lifecycle, contributing to the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of pipeline infrastructure. The role will coordinate technical activities, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, schedules, costs, risks, and engineering deliverables in alignment with company standards, project objectives, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Coordinate pipeline engineering and project execution activities, including technical reviews, progress tracking, documentation, and risk identification.
Support schedules, milestones, budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, resource planning, and project deliverables.
Work with internal teams, consultants, contractors, vendors, and technical specialists to ensure integrated pipeline designs and effective project execution.
Review and support key pipeline deliverables, including route selection, hydraulic analyses, crossing designs, materials selection, stress analyses, constructability reviews, design packages, scopes of work, procurement packages, and bid packages.
Coordinate technical interfaces with related facilities such as pumping stations, process plants, tailings facilities,
water infrastructure, power supply systems, roads, and third-party assets.
Support field investigations, constructability reviews, risk assessments, and technical issue resolution during engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
Promote compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and risk management requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
Engineering degree or general equivalent.
Minimum five years of related work experience.
Experience in mining fluid transportation systems such as water, concentrate, tailings, slurry, or reclaimed water pipelines.
Strong technical knowledge, communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under schedule requirements.
Technical English, with ability to interact with Spanish-speaking and English-speaking stakeholders.
Professional certification or registration, if required by local regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale mining projects involving long-distance pipelines, pumping systems, hydraulic design, and multidisciplinary execution.
- Strategic thinking, accountability, adaptability, analytical problem-solving, proactive reporting, and technical writing skills.
- Basic proficiency in office, spreadsheet, presentation, email, and project management tools.
