Redtree Engineering is seeking a Semi-Senior Structural Engineer to support structural analysis, design, and engineering development activities for industrial facilities, power generation projects, energy infrastructure, and mining operations. We are seeking engineers with 3–6 years of hands-on structural design and calculation experience, with recent, practical work in industrial or heavy-industry environments.
This role is heavily focused on hands-on structural engineering, analysis, calculations, and design execution rather than project administration. The adecuado candidate has solid experience with structural steel, pipe racks, reinforced concrete, and equipment foundations in industries such as power generation, mining, oil & gas, or similar heavy industrial environments, and is looking to grow within a technical career track.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing engineering organization and build your career in industrial structural engineering as part of Redtree's LatAm team.
You Will
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel, reinforced concrete, foundation, and support structures for industrial and energy-related facilities, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Develop structural calculations, design packages, engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Support the design of structural systems for industrial equipment, process facilities, power generation equipment, and related infrastructure — including equipment foundations, steel structures, and pipe racks.
- Apply building codes, design standards, and client requirements to engineering solutions.
- Prepare structural plans, drawings, calculations, and technical reports for senior review.
- Coordinate with civil,
mechanical, electrical, controls, and project management teams throughout project execution, including with the Revit modeling team (engineer calculates; modeler builds the model).
- Support field investigations, site visits, condition assessments, and construction support activities as required.
- Support equipment foundation design, structural rehabilitation, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Assist with project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and engineering estimates.
- Participate in quality reviews, constructability reviews, and technical evaluations.
- Support proposal development and technical scope definition for new project opportunities.
- Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) or Structural Engineering.
- 3–6 years of structural engineering experience, with recent, hands-on design and calculation work in industrial, energy, mining, oil & gas, or power generation environments.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated experience performing structural analysis and design as a primary responsibility (not primarily administrative).
- Experience designing structural steel, reinforced concrete structures, foundations,
and equipment support systems.
- Experience using at least one structural analysis platform: Autodesk Robot, SAP2000, or STAAD Pro (no single tool is exclusionary — proficiency in any one is acceptable).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Detail-oriented, technically focused, and committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to machine foundations, turbine foundations, boiler foundations, compressor foundations, generator foundations, or other dynamically loaded structures.
- Familiarity with dynamic analysis, vibration analysis, or foundation design for rotating equipment.
- Exposure to transmission line structures, substations, utility infrastructure, or related power delivery systems.
- Knowledge of American design codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318) is a plus.
- Prior experience working remotely or within distributed, multicultural engineering teams.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to build hands-on expertise on high-impact regional and international projects.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and industry-leading clients.
- A professional environment focused on technical growth and mentorship from senior engineers.
- Clear growth path toward senior technical roles within a growing organization.
- Participation in projects across power generation, mining, industrial infrastructure, and energy infrastructure.
- Flexible/hybrid work arrangements based in Santiago de Chile, depending on project requirements.
- Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with experience and qualifications.
