Hyperscale Data Center Technician

? Location: Montevideo, Uruguay / Santiago, Chile

? Work Model: On-site / Full-time

We are looking for a Hyperscale Data Center Technician to join a technical team responsible for maintaining critical fiber and network infrastructure within a large-scale, mission-critical data center environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, replace, remove and organize fiber optic cables and jumpers.
- Perform rack & stack, cable routing, labeling and cable management.
- Perform fiber testing, troubleshooting and fault isolation.
- Work with ticketing systems and maintain accurate records of completed tasks.
- Replace components and ensure connectivity and equipment availability.
- Manage materials and spare parts and report shortages.
- Follow SOPs, technical documentation and safety procedures.
- Escalate incidents and technical issues when required.

Requirements – Must Have
- 4+ years of professional technical experience.
- Experience working in Data Centers, telecommunications or critical infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience with fiber optics, cabling or network infrastructure.
- Experience with fiber installation,



testing and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Single-Mode and Multi-Mode fiber.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices.
- Fluent English – written and spoken (mandatory).
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small technical team.
- Comfortable working in an industrial/data center environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and regularly lift/move equipment weighing up to approximately 23 kg / 50 lbs.

Nice to Have
- Previous experience in hyperscale data center operations.
- Experience with ticketing systems.
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification.
- BICSI or CFOT certification.
- Background in telecommunications, electrical work, mechanical maintenance, hardware maintenance or other technical hands-on environments.
