The Challenge Ahead
We are seeking a Principal Geotechnical to join our Resource Centre of Excellence (RCoE), providing geotechnical assurance, capability uplift and trusted technical advice across BHP’s asset portfolio. Based in Santiago, Chile,
you will play an integral role in global resource engineering processes, working across multiple sites and projects supporting Minerals Americas and, over time, Minerals Australia.
Reporting to the Geotechnical Manager, you will be part of a highly skilled team specializing in geotechnical characterization, open pit and underground mining, and stability analysis. As a technical expert without direct people management responsibilities, you will support assets in geotechnical rock mass characterization, stability assessments, monitoring practices and the transfer of best practices to improve decision quality, strengthen capability and support value creation across the business.
