Org. Setting and ReportingThis position is located in the Agricultural Development Unit (ADU) of the Division of Production, Productivity and Management (DPPM). The Research Assistant reports to the Chief of the Unit. The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean is one of the five regional Commissions of the United Nations. Please visit our website at www.eclac.org for further information.#### ResponsibilitiesWithin delegated authority, the Research Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: • Monitors processes and schedules related to the unit’s outputs, products, tasks, etc. • Researches, compiles and organizes information and reference materials from various sources for reports, work plans, studies, briefings, meetings/conferences, etc. related to the unit’s work areas, with a focus on food systems, digitalization, bioeconomy and productive development. • Generates a variety of standard statistical and other reports, using various databases. • Proofreads documents and edits texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style, and for adherence to established standards for format. • Assists in the maintenance of websites by scanning, converting and posting a variety of documents onto the site. • Assists in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software. • Performs data entry and extraction functions. • Maintains files and databases for work unit. • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, knowledge management, planning and decision making. • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures. • Performs other related work as required.#### Competencies• PROFESSIONALISM: Knowledge of research methodologies, data collection and maintenance.
