Purpose Provide proactive legal support to new deployments area, with particular focus on telecommunications infrastructure, permitting and regulatory matters, contract drafting and negotiation, and municipal and administrative processes. The role is expected to anticipate legal and permitting risks, drive matters to resolution within required timelines, maintain accurate legal records, and support the timely deployment and operation of telecommunications sites.
Functions
- Proactively identify legal, regulatory, permitting, contractual and municipal risks that may affect site acquisition, deployment, construction, operation or project schedules, and propose practical mitigation actions.
- Draft, review and negotiate lease agreements, contractor and vendor agreements, real estate purchase agreements, usufruct agreements, letters of intent, amendments, settlements and other commercial or legal documents.
- Lead and support negotiations with landlords, contractors, vendors, municipalities, public authorities, external counsel and other stakeholders, protecting PTI’s contractual and commercial interests.
- Obtain, review, analyze and follow up on permits, certificates, authorizations and approvals required for telecommunications infrastructure, including municipal, environmental, construction, closing/occupancy, aviation/height and safety and other applicable approvals.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable local, municipal and sector-specific regulations affecting telecommunications infrastructure and translate regulatory requirements into clear actions for internal teams.
- Represent and/or coordinate the Company’s participation in administrative and municipal proceedings and manage interactions with competent authorities.
- Coordinate notarial, registry and public-record procedures, including registration and formalization of relevant legal documents.
- Prepare corporate documents, site reports, trackers, legal status reports and management updates, ensuring information is accurate, current and delivered on time.
- Maintain complete, organized and auditable legal files and contract documentation.
- Coordinate matters with PTI personnel, local legal consultants and external counsel, following up proactively until closure.
- Prioritize multiple matters simultaneously, respond effectively to urgent or extraordinary requests, and perform other duties consistent with the position of Counsel.
These job functions are representative of tasks accomplished by incumbents. The list is not exhaustive; incumbents perform other related tasks. Working Conditions And Physical Demands Position works primarily in a standard office environment and may require visits to municipalities, public authorities, notaries, registries and telecommunications sites. Standing, sitting and walking are required daily. The role may involve travel within the territory and occasional international travel.
Qualifications
- Law degree and valid authorization/license to practice law, as required by the applicable local jurisdiction.
- At least 3 years of relevant legal experience,
preferably involving real estate, administrative/regulatory law, permitting, contracts and/or telecommunications infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local and municipal regulations and permitting processes applicable to construction and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications industry and telecommunications sites deployment processes is required.
- Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify legal and commercial risks and propose workable solutions.
- Highly proactive, self-driven and results-oriented, with strong ownership and follow-through; able to anticipate issues rather than only react to them.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
- Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; ability to prepare and maintain trackers, reports and professional documentation.
- Availability to respond to urgent and extraordinary requests when business needs require it.
- Availability to travel within the territory as needed.
