Organizational context: The Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (RLC) leads FAO's regional response to priorities in food security, agriculture, and rural development. It identifies, plans, and implements priority activities, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach. RLC collaborates with Headquarters to develop and oversee FAO's strategic regional response, advises on incorporating regional priorities into the Programme of Work and Budget, and implements approved programmes. The office monitors programme implementation, addresses deficiencies, and maintains relations with regional institutions. It supports regional policy dialogue, facilitates partnerships, and enhances capacity development and resource mobilization for food security, agriculture, and rural development within the region.
Job purpose: The South-South Cooperation Officer will support the promotion of South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) within the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (RLC),



focusing on governmental institutions to advance FAO's mandate and Strategic Framework 2021-2030. This role involves providing policy support, facilitating knowledge sharing, and disseminating best practices for transformative SSTC across the region. The officer will monitor SSTC-related programmes and activities, reporting on results to key internal and external stakeholders. The primary objective is to enhance the operational effectiveness and implementation of SSTC initiatives, aligning them with FAO's strategic goals and ensuring that FAO's knowledge products translate into tangible country-level results and impacts.
