NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas.The RoleTo act as an expert practitioner selecting, assessing, planning and delivering evidence based, nutrition and dietetic care to patients within a specialist field.In general, to act as a source of expertise for patients, within the speciality, other health care professionals, GPs and Consultants.In This Key Role, You WillCommunicate and receive complex and sensitive information and present this in an understandable form to patients which may include giving unwelcome or difficult to accept information.Work within the British Dietetic Association Code of Professional Conduct, Health Professions Council (HPC) Standards and demonstrate relevant professional development activities and the maintenance of expertise, knowledge and skills, including CPD,
membership of specialist interest groups and maintaining personal CPD portfolio.Lead in identifying training, planning, developing, executing and evaluating training and education needs of clinical colleagues, other health care staff and external agencies, within areas of clinical speciality.Act on behalf of the Nutrition and Dietetic Services Manager for operational issues, to provide clinical support and contribute to service development, including representation at meetings.Generate reports/information on clinical, educational or health improvement activities as requested by Nutrition and Dietetic Services Manager.What You'll BringRegistered Dietitian with valid HCPC RegistrationEducated to/working towards/operating at Degree LevelPost graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualificationThe post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.What We OfferAs a valued employee of NHS Lanarkshire,
