Key Responsibilities

As a Secondary English Teacher at Chartwell International School, your role will go beyond teaching the Cambridge Curriculum.
You will inspire students to develop their language skills, explore literature, and become confident, independent learners by:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and A Level programmes.
• Encouraging students to develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills through a variety of texts, discussions, and creative activities.
• Preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE and A Level examinations, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to achieve their best results.
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where students feel comfortable sharing ideas,



asking questions, and expressing their opinions.
• Assessing, marking, and providing constructive feedback on students' work, monitoring their progress and identifying areas for improvement.
• Adapting teaching methods to meet the different abilities, learning styles, and language backgrounds of students in our international community.
• Maintaining accurate records of student achievement, assessment, and academic progress.
• Communicating regularly with parents and colleagues to support students' academic and personal development.
• Contributing to school activities, assemblies, literary events, educational trips, and other initiatives that enrich school life.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership to continuously develop and improve the English programme.
