Authorization & Billing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Authorization & Billing Specialist to support a home care agency. This role is responsible for managing insurance authorizations, supporting pre-billing and compliance processes, and assisting with payroll-related inquiries from field staff.

The idóneo candidate has experience working with insurance companies, understands home care authorization processes, and is comfortable managing follow-ups and resolving discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage new, renewed, and updated home care authorizations and maintain accurate records in HHAeXchange.
- Follow up with insurance companies and MLTCs regarding pending, missing, incorrect, or denied authorizations.
- Monitor authorization expirations and request continuation of care as needed.
- Review pre-billing issues and help resolve authorization, service-hour, and EVV-related discrepancies.
- Support POC and EVV compliance and communicate with Home Health Aides when corrections are needed.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries, including pay, PTO,



rates, paystubs, W-2s, and W-4s.
- Maintain accurate documentation and coordinate with internal departments regarding authorization, billing, and payroll matters.

Qualifications

- experience with insurance authorizations, medical billing, or home care operations is a big plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up consistently on pending cases.
- Comfortable making and receiving frequent calls with insurance companies and field staff.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience with Viventium is a plus.
- English required; Spanish strongly preferred. Russian is a plus.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday from 9am to 5pm (according to NY time)
