The position

We are looking for a dedicated English teacher to join a strong English team. This teacher will be innovative and passionate and be experienced in teaching high school English at the IB English A Language and Literature and/or IB English A Literature courses. Additionally, this teacher will teach sections of Grade 9 and/or Grade 10 English. This teacher enjoys collaborating and working with a highly capable high school faculty.

Qualifications and Experience

- High School English teaching experience in grades 9-10 using US Common Core Standards (preferred)
- IB English teaching experience and training in either IB English A Language and Literature and/or IB English A Literature (required)
- Experience with competency based learning or standards-based learning (preferred).
- Solid conceptual and applied knowledge of current research and trends in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues.




- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
- High level of English proficiency required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Participate in the annual Week Without Walls program
- Engage in the co-curricular program at Nido by advising a club or coaching an athletic team
- Serve as an Advisor for a small group of 8-12 high school students
- Collaborate with the English department to further develop and improve the Science curriculum- this includes participating in weekly curricular planning meetings with course-alike teaching partners
- Teach five sections of English courses
- Engage in the Nido community by promoting a positive, collaborative school culture
- Contribute to fostering the mission, vision, and values of Nido
