Job Description: Purpose
Negotiate and execute the Marketing BU’s spot and short-term chartering of bulk freight for Copper concentrates ex Chile, including opportunistic third-party trade that complement the Company´s in house cargo.
What you will do
- Conduct short term and spot chartering for Base Metals BU (Copper concs) dry bulk freight activities.
- Responsible for daily chartering of dry bulk vessels for parcelling of copper concentrates on V/C, period and TCT basis.
- Negotiate and achieve freight targets with outside counterparties.
- Closely monitor freight markets and collect current fixture information.
- Oversee vessel P&L; performance and provide direction to Operations personnel as required.
- Responsible for reviewing Charter Party contracts pre- and post-fixture.
- Conduct all freight differential calculations (including discharge port and bunker adjustments)
- Align chartering activities with monthly scheduling requirements. Qualifications: What you will need to know
- Degree in a commercial and/or shipping discipline preferred.
- Solid understanding of the bulk freight and expertise in global commodity markets.
- Fluency in English, written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus.
- Experience with Veslink software a plus.
