Job Description



SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:



Our Networks Consultant role encompasses the lead technical advisor responsibilities for interfacing with our valued clients on large scale, multi-site global projects to develop and deploy robust network solutions. The Networks Consultant will interact directly with key internal and external contacts on the deployment and rollout of network infrastructure and security related efforts. These projects will be specific to enabling a Connected Enterprise by connecting the Industrial Internet of Things at our key global customer facilities.



The Network Consultant roles and responsibility are:



•‘Hands-on’ experience in assessing, designing,

and deploying network infrastructure in environments including process automation, discrete controls, and automated manufacturing processes / equipment.



•Experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.) within an Industrial Network



•Understanding of various industry standards including ISA, ANSI, NEMA, NERC, IDC, NEC and NIST standards. Specific focus on NIST 800-82, NERC-CIP, IEC-62443 Standards would be an added benefit



•Experience in PLC, Networking and SCADA design/programming including data extraction and data analysis.



•Solid technical skills with various Ethernet protocols including EtherNet/IP, specifically around assessment, design and implementation of complex systems.



•Strong communication skills and commercial skills, ability to handle multiple projects / interactions, and ability to interact with various global teams, clients and vendors including those in international regions.



•Ability to stand up and configure firewalls from various vendors including the latest Cisco FirePower platforms



•Familiarity with a variety of networking and / or security concepts, practices, and procedures, to include manufacturing and enterprise network convergence, network protocols, communication optimization, application effects on system performance and human exploitation techniques on the manufacturing network.



•Experience in developing and deploying solutions in a virtual environment.



•Design, implement and support key global customers’ converged business and manufacturing/industrial networks and user needs in parallel with their overall business strategies.



•Write detailed documentation that could include customer requirements, system specifications, observed issues with remediation recommendations or implementation plans in order to develop or modify manufacturing infrastructure.



•Design, recommend, and implement network infrastructure and associated configuration changes.



•Design customer secure manufacturing architectures and provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving ability to customers.



The Network and Security Consultant take part in the development, sales and delivery of Network and Security solutions for Rockwell Automation customers. The primary focus include sales support, consulting, assessing current state, developing remediation plans, implementing solutions, and providing long term maintenance of a customer’s manufacturing infrastructure.



Consulting performed within the national territory to accelerate Rockwell Automation’s growth in products, solutions, and services. The consulting practices generate rapid growth and also support growth of remediation activities performed by other technical department from our business areas, and partners.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



The primary focus for the Consultant Network and Security Services:



- Lead the NSS team on CSM to meet our goals and give the proper service to all our customers, sales force and distributors.

- Be accountable for the financial results, deadline status, quality and customer satisfaction related to the projects and consulting under his responsibility, monitoring each step of the project execution to optimize and verify improvement opportunities.

- Tighten continually his relationship with the customer, demonstrating interest and seeking more information on other processes and difficulties. Make available his complete professional experience with the aim of collaborating actively to the customer success.

- Interact with the customer to detect and inform Sales area about new supply opportunities.

- Understand customer need to create proper strategies with Sales team.

- Participate in all the stages of network solutions, from Assess, Design/plan, implement, audit and manage/monitor.

- Perform a pre-analysis of the global proposal together with the Sales Team for posterior submission to Authorization Committee, as well to defend technically the representation of the proposal to the customer.

- Evaluate the required resources for the project execution, verifying labor availability and the need to subcontract outsourced personnel as well as to control the material to be used, detailing material technical specification for purchase purposes.

- Kick off meeting coordination activities of the team as well as acting as the interface among the team, customer and other areas of the company.

- Elaborate the project/contract schedule, establishing deadlines to conclude each step and define team and controlling hours spent in each project.

- Interact with the customer and other areas of the company, aiming at clarifying technical doubts related to the project. Detail technical scope; perform schedule change, hardware and software modifications, among others.

- Conduct critical analysis of the project/contract together with the technical team, evaluating all conclusion steps and suggesting improvements to be developed and implemented.

- Review project costs and progress, analyzing and comparing them to the initial forecast, and provide corrections or alternatives to compensate for losses or changes.

- Work with Application Engineers in order to get the project engineering according with customer Specification, submitting and review it for customer approval.

- Coordinate and document the elaboration of the test routines and/or be with the customer at Rockwell Automation Factory’s when Witness Test need to be performed.

- Monitor commissioning and verifying that the equipment is correctly installed at the customer site.

- Monitor start-up, verifying the occurrence of any problem and solving it to assure hardware and Network integration.

- Foster and lead Process Improvement Groups, developing structured team work to promote continuous identification, evaluation, questioning and proposition of internal process improvement.

- Assure quality, standard and accomplishment of Rockwell procedures for the project execution.

- Meet and perform other professional activities related and inherent to the job as per guideline and request of the immediate superior.

- Post Shipment issues solution.

- Commercial Engagement evaluating and dimensioning services and Engineering Effort when quoting a Project within the scope of CSM (Start Up – Training).



EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



- Have an engineering degree on the following carriers:Electrical EngineeringElectronic EngineeringIndustrial EngineeringElectromechanical EngineeringRobotics EngineersProject Management CoursesComputer Systems EngineeringSoftware Engineering



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



L2 – 2 Years’ Experience or related Experience to



L3 - 5 Years’ Experience or related Experience



- Demonstrate Knowledge Rockwell Automation Products

- Show proficiency in Networks and AB Integrated Architecture.

- Knowledge in Visio and CAD Tools

- Commercial Experience

- PMI Institute education certificate.

- Ability to handle high pressure work conditions.

- Willingness to travel in Territory assignment
