Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Regional Product Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Colombia site.

The product specialist in PD assenblies (ANSI and IEC) is responsible of promoting sales growth and market presence in the Latin America region of the business units assigned to him/her by providing technical support to customers, agents, sales and customer service, by working with the business units on the NPI processes, by providing pricing recommendations to the factory MKT groups made through the participation on strategic bid meetings and obtaining competitive feedback from the market.

The product specialist will partner with sales and will provide support in the commercial operation processes or provide technical training to customers when required. The product specialist will work with the marketing communication group of each BU to develop strategies to promote our products in the region. The product specialist will work very close with LATAM BUs operations, engineering and finance as required to develop forecast, PP, product improvement, and product development.

Some activities related with the position will be:

- Drive the new product introduction process in the region; Work with Global product managers by providing market information, technical scope and channel strategy for the region to support the product launching ;

- Assist in analyzing application trends, product trends, and the market potential for product innovation.

- Ensure compliance of our products with each of the specifications and standards of the countries they serve ; Support product homologation or certification processes in the Latin America region.

- Support pricing reviews and bidding strategies coordinated with sales, customer service, and product management groups ; The Product specialist will collect market information to support the decision making process and will provide price recommendations.

- Ensure the implementation of the go-to-market strategy of the assigned products for the region ; Identify business or product improvement opportunities and recommend changes or new strategies to management.

- Answer technical questions from the customers, sales force and agents. Support sales in commercial operation activities such as: quoting, filling data sheets, project management or contract execution as required.

- Provide product training for field sales rep, agents and customers on new products and applications on field.

- Visit key customers and distributors to cultivate relationships and understand customer needs.

- Provide plant tours to customers to review product scope, manufacturing/testing facilities and the associated processes ; Support with customer inspections when required to evaluate and release products to be delivered to our customers.

- Work with the marketing communication group to develop technical and commercial papers for our customers to promote our products, ensure the right promotion of the products is being executed in the region and support customers with seminars or product exhibitions as required.

- Participate in the different technical committees of the region market based on the product assigned to the specialist.

- Perform special projects as assigned.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in degree in electrical, electronic or software engineering.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and (or) sales, preferred in electrical sector or automation industry. Industry experience is critical. Additional experience in operations, sales, engineering is beneficial to success in this role.

- Experience in driving strategic growth is preferred.

- Strong executive level communications capabilities and the proven ability to execute strategies is a must.

- Knowledge of MV and LV assemblies such as switchgear, MMC, Powercenters, etc.

- Strong business English communication and written skills.

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.

- Leadership by influence, executive presence and excellent communication, teamwork, results oriented and influence others w/o authority
