[B-455] - Operations Manager

GateSource HR Mining Recruitment is partnering with a key client to identify and recruit an experienced and bilingual SP/ENG Operations Manager to oversee key administrative, financial, and logistical functions at one of its strategic mining sites in Latin America. This leadership position plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth site operations, particularly around land access, local stakeholder engagement, and coordination with production and safety teams.

This is an expat residential position (relocation required).

Key responsibilities

- Lead and optimize site-level administrative operations, including policy enforcement, documentation, and internal compliance.
- Manage financial planning and reporting for operational budgets,



cost controls, and procurement tracking.
- Oversee logistics and supply chain functions, ensuring the timely delivery of critical materials and equipment.
- Direct land asset management, including leasing, acquisition, and negotiations with landowners.
- Foster positive relationships with local communities and landholders to support site access and continuity.
- Supervise administrative and logistics teams, ensuring close coordination with production and health & safety managers.
- Drive process improvements and cost-efficiency across non-production operations.
- Represent the site’s administrative interests with internal leadership, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders.
- Provide reporting and analysis on financial, logistical, and land-related KPIs.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related discipline (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operational or administrative management, within the mining sector.
- Strong background in financial oversight, logistics, and real estate/land negotiations.




- Fully fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- Proven leadership skills in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution abilities.
- Willingness to work on-site in a remote Latin American location.
- Experience with metallic mining and familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage.
