South America Area Lead, Facilities ManagementPosition SummaryThe South America FM Area Lead is responsible for providing operational oversight, and governance across all Facilities Management (FM) activities within the South America region. This role ensures high‑quality delivery of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) services, adherence to global FM standards, effective project execution, and strong stakeholder alignment.As part of the GBS Facilities Management Team, you will join a global organization responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient workplaces that enable business performance across all regions. The team oversees the full scope of facilities operations, including service delivery management, governance, compliance, sustainability initiatives, and vendor performance. GBS FM partners closely with business leaders, HSE, and other corporate functions to ensure that facility services meet organizational standards, support employee experience, and align with long-term strategic goals. You will be a part of a high-performance group focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and driving consistent service outcomes throughout the enterprise.Your Responsibilities Lead IFM provider performance across South AmericaEnforce FM governance, standards, and complianceOversee hard and soft services to ensure continuityDrive HSE/ESG compliance and sustainability reportingManages FM projects, commissions, and decommissionsSupport real estate actions and occupancy planningResolve escalations and lead risk mitigationBuild stakeholder relationships and report performanceQualifications Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business,
or related field.7+ years of FM leadership experience.Experience managing IFM service provider(s).Deep knowledge of FM operations, real estate, and compliance.Experience with HSE, ESG, and Real Estate collaboration.Preferred Qualifications Experience in industrial, office, or multi-site environments.Regional experience across South America.Spanish and English fluency is required.IFM certifications (CFM, FMP, SMP) or PMP.As an equal opportunity employer, FLSmidth embraces diversity and equality by promoting an environment of inclusion.
