The City of Valparaiso provides reasonable accommodation to qualified employees and applicants with known disabilities who require accommodation to complete the application process or perform essential functions of the job unless those accommodations would present an undue hardship.Incumbent serves as a Director (Apprentice) for the Broadway Bootcamp program, taking primary responsibility for the health, safety, well-being, and overall happiness of up to 25 campers.
Provides consistent supervision, strong group management, and active participation in daily camp activities.
Builds positive relationships with campers while fostering teamwork, problem-solving skills, and mutual respect.
Sets a strong example through proper hygiene, punctuality, sportsmanship, and adherence to camp rules and policies.
Ensures all safety regulations are followed and communicates regularly with the Director regarding camper progress, concerns, and any challenges that arise.
Responsibilities
Communicates clearly and professionally with staff and campers
Executes policies and procedures professionally and accurately
Maintains a clean and safe environment
Responsible for completing all tasks assigned in a timely manner
Perform other related duties as assigned




Enforce rules according to rules setup by Valpo Parks Enrichment Director
Intentionally engage and play games and activities with campers
Possesses leadership abilities and able to work under minimum supervision
Job Requirements and Difficulty of Work
Must be 18 years or older with previous theatre experience
Ability to communicate well clearly and accurately with all
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task and handle changing priorities while maintaining friendliness and professionalism
Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct
The adecuado candidate will possess a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, exceptional customer service skills, professional communication/interpersonal skills, healthy work ethics and the ability to work effectively in a team approach
Ability to work with children by showing patience, dependability, punctuality, teamwork, self-control and enthusiasm
CPR/First Aid certified preferred
QualificationsMust pass a background check.
Special RequirementsMust be available June 8th - June 25th from 8:00am -1:30pm
