Consultant Orthodontist – NHS Lanarkshire
The role involves joining a highly motivated NHS Lanarkshire Orthodontic team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred orthodontic care for complex, multidisciplinary cases. The position offers opportunities for training and collaboration with onsite Maxillofacial laboratories.n
Responsibilities
- Provide specialised orthodontic treatment and care within the NHS Lanarkshire service.
- Collaborate with the orthopaedic team and support training of staff and students.
- Act as a medical appraiser and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety (including human‑factor training), education and research initiatives.
- Develop and propose additional SPA time for activities beyond the standard PA for non‑DCC/SPA duties,
when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Membership in Orthodontics with completion of an accredited 3‑year training pathway.
- Holder of, or within six months of obtaining, the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Orthodontics.
- Inclusion on the General Dental Council Specialist List in Orthodontics is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
