Associate (4?5 years post‑qualification experience) – Aviation, Contracts & Assets
At Aeroiuris, a law firm specialized in aviation law with 30 years of experience, we are strengthening our Contracts Division across Commercial Aircraft and General Aviation.
About
We are looking for an Associate (4?5 years post‑qualification experience) to take on a high‑responsibility role combining technical excellence, structuring, and progressive team supervision.
Scope
You will work on complex, high‑value aviation matters across:
- Aircraft transactions (commercial & private)
- Asset structuring and financing
- Contracting (leases, SPA, charter, MRO, etc.)
- Regulatory and tax aspects related to aviation operations
The role sits directly under General Management and offers strong exposure to decision‑making and firm strategy. After an initial integration phase, you will progressively take on supervision responsibilities within the Contracts team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating aviation and asset‑based contracts
- Structuring transactions involving aircraft ownership, financing and operations
- Advising on regulatory and tax implications in aviation matters
- Managing files autonomously with direct client exposure
- Contributing to internal structuring, processes and standards
- Progressively supervising junior lawyers after onboarding
- Acting as a relay between the team and management
What we are looking for
Experience (non‑negotiable): 4?5 years of real professional experience as a qualified lawyer with presente responsibility on files (not only internships or support roles).
Qualification: Qualified lawyer/admitted to the Bar, solid academic and professional credentials. Exposure to English law or qualified English Lawyer is a strong advantage.
Experience in cross‑border or international transactions highly valued.
Technical background: Aviation law, asset‑based finance, commercial contracts; exposure to cross‑border transactions and structuring; understanding of regulatory and tax dimensions is a strong plus.
Additional skills: Advanced and fully autonomous command of professional IT tools (MS Office, presentations, databases, document management systems), strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, structured, high‑quality deliverables; expected to operate efficiently and independently in a demanding, fast‑paced environment.
Mindset: Strong drafting and negotiation skills; autonomous, structured, reliable; high work capacity and commitment; ability to take ownership and deliver under pressure; potential to lead and structure others; genuine interest in aviation is essential.
Languages: Fluent English (C1/C2 – full professional fluency mandatory); additional languages highly valued.
If you are unsure whether you meet the following criteria, this role may not be the right fit: experience mainly consists of internships or support roles without real ownership; you cannot work fluently in English in a professional context; you are seeking a purely execution/support role without autonomy; you are uncomfortable in a demanding, high‑responsibility environment; you lack exposure to contracts, transactions, or asset‑based legal work.
Terms & Contractual Conditions
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Trial Period: 6 months
- Fixed Gross Annual Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
- Variable Compensation: Available, linked to performance and contribution
Benefits
Location: Madrid (on‑site, with some hybrid flexibility). Working in Madrid offers a vibrant, international environment with a high quality of life, excellent infrastructure, and an expanding professional legal community.
