Locum Specialty Dentist in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery
University Hospital Monklands An exciting opportunity has emerged within the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), to join its existing team based at University Hospital Monklands. This is a temporary Locum position for 12 months.
The job is offered as a full‑time post on a 10 Practice Activity (10 PA) basis, but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full time.
Key responsibilities
- Provide patient care as a Specialty Dentist within OMFS, treating general OMFS conditions at the Specialty Dentist level.
- Support the unit and contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, education, research, and development.
- Perform activities as required by the last practice activity schedule, including SPA duties.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Four years’ full‑time postgraduate training (or equivalent).
- Broad experience treating general OMFS conditions at a Specialty Dentist level in an OMFS unit.
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety (including human factors training), medical education, research & development, acting as an appraiser, or other service‑enhancing initiatives.
- Proposals for additional SPA time are encouraged; discussion with the Recruitment Lead and/or Service Manager will be arranged.
