We are looking to hire for the position of Learning Support Assistant Teacher (Temporary replacement), according to the following skills and qualifications.

- Reports to: Director of Student Support Services in collaboration with Elementary School Principal
- Time commitment: Full-time

The position

To ensure that students who receive Learning Support services, regardless of their educational, physical or behavioral needs, are able to access and benefit from learning opportunities in the classroom and around the school. The successful candidate must demonstrate a history of connecting with students and communicating effectively and with kindness. The candidate must also demonstrate strong human relations skills with students, staff, faculty and families.

Qualifications and Experience

- University Degree in Education, Special Education or related area
- Experience in a multicultural international school environment
- Experience working with Early Years and/or Elementary age students (PK-5)




- Collaborative team member
- Competent computer skills
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish required

Skills, Attitudes, and Dispositions

- Ability to connect with young children, communicating clearly and kindly with them
- Excellent human relations skills in order to communicate effectively with both host country and international parents

Main Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist with the instruction of individuals, small groups or whole group in collaboration with the lead Learning Support teacher
- Assume the role of the lead teacher with the teacher is absent
- Collaborate with the Learning Support and Classroom teacher for planning and preparation of lessons
- Assist in maintaining an orderly, clean and safe classroom and school environment
- Assist the Learning Support teacher with record keeping and preparation of required reports
- Participate in parent/teacher/student conferences
- Support the School and Administration
- Other duties as assigned
