Responsibilities

Position Overview: Trina Storage, a division of Trinasolar specialized in battery energy storage systems, is looking for a Project Quality & Compliance Supervisor to join its LAC Project Delivery team.

The role is responsible for ensuring that all BESS construction, commissioning, and close-out activities across the LAC portfolio meet the applicable technical, contractual, and regulatory quality standards. The supervisor works embedded within the project execution team, coordinating directly with Project Managers, Site Managers, EPC contractors, and HQ engineering teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

The idóneo candidate combines hands‑on site QA/QC experience on BESS or renewable energy projects with a structured approach to quality management systems, NCR handling, and close‑out documentation – and is comfortable coordinating in a cross‑cultural environment with Chinese OEM/EPC teams and LAC clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage Quality Control Plans (QCP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), and Supplier Quality Plans (SQP) for BESS projects
- Review and approve technical quality deliverables from EPC contractors and subcontractors prior to key execution milestones
- Maintain controlled documentation across project phases (construction, commissioning, close‑out), ensuring traceability of materials, equipment, and test records
- Prepare and consolidate project close‑out packages (TOP folders) to meet contractual handover requirements

Site Quality Supervision & Commissioning Support

- Supervise quality during BESS construction and commissioning activities (Cold Commissioning, Hot Commissioning, SAT), validating test results against technical specifications




- Manage the NCR (Non‑Conformance Report) process: identification, root cause analysis, corrective action follow‑up, and formal closure
- Monitor and control punch lists, ensuring resolution of open items prior to milestone acceptance and contractual close‑out
- Validate equipment reception (FAT follow‑up), material certifications, and traceability records from factory to site

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (IEC, SEC, ISO 9001) and client contractual quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with national regulatory bodies (e.g., SEC, Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional) as needed for technical approvals and project close‑out
- Prepare quality progress reports and consolidated LAC dashboards for Project Managers and senior leadership
- Lead quality KOM meetings, weekly progress reviews, and technical clarifications with clients and EPC teams

Cross‑functional Coordination

- Act as the primary quality interface between the client, EPC contractors, and HQ Engineering / Supply teams
- Support PM functions in critical project phases when required, including milestone tracking and client deliverable validation
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quality standards, procedures, and commissioning methodologies based on lessons learned

Requirements

- Education:



Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical background)
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or related EPC environments. At least 2 years as Quality Manager or Quality Site Supervisor on utility‑scale BESS or solar PV projects.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands‑on knowledge of QCP/ITP/SQP development, NCR management, FAT/SAT/commissioning supervision, and TOP close‑out documentation. Familiarity with IEC, SEC, and ISO 9001 standards. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; Power BI is a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Structured approach to documentation and process compliance. Capable of managing simultaneous projects and generating consolidated quality dashboards at program level.
- Communication: Comfortable operating in a cross‑cultural environment (Chinese OEM/EPC teams and LAC clients). Experience leading KOM meetings and technical reviews with multi‑party stakeholders.
- Language Skills: Spanish native or full professional proficiency. English B2 or above for technical documentation and HQ communication.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally across Project Management, Engineering, Supply, Logistics, and Site teams. Availability to travel within the LAC region. Driver’s license required.
- Desirable: ISO 9001 internal auditor certification; experience with digital protocol tools (Datascope, SignRequest); familiarity with Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional requirements and CEN‑facing close‑out processes; experience generating reports at LAC program level across multiple simultaneous projects.
