Electrical Estimating Manager – LV Switchgear

About the Role An established electrical engineering and switchgear solutions provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimating Manager – LV Switchgear to lead the preparation of accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates for low-voltage (LV) switchgear projects.

The successful candidate will manage the full estimation process, working closely with engineering, procurement, sales, and project delivery teams to ensure timely and high-quality tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the end-to-end estimation process for LV switchgear projects
- Review client specifications, drawings, and tender documentation to define project scope
- Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, engineering, and overheads
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to validate technical and commercial inputs
- Analyse project risks and opportunities to support competitive pricing strategies
- Develop and maintain databases for costs, suppliers, and historical project information
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and industry standards including IEC and related regulations
- Participate in bid reviews, technical clarifications, and client meetings




- Mentor and support junior estimation engineers where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation tools, templates, and internal processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 5–10 years’ experience in LV switchgear estimation or similar electrical estimating roles
- Strong technical understanding of LV switchgear systems, electrical panels, and associated components
- Proven experience managing tendering and bidding processes for electrical projects
- Familiarity with industry standards and electrical regulations
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
